ISSinharaja forest in one of the most important natural treasures in Sri Lanka. This forest is a tropical rain forest encircled by Rathnapura , Galle and Matara districts. This evergreen land is the home for many endemic trees and rare species and indeed a world heritage site.


 This forest is famous in elusive leopards,
black panthers , wild boars , monkeys and even a small population of elephants. Over 65% of Sri Lanka's endemic rainforest trees grow here, creating a paradise for flora lovers and  a sanctuary for an extraordinary array of fauna. 



The forest is attracts foreign tourists. Singharaja is home to many rare species of birds, butterflies, reptiles, and mammals. Scientists and nature lovers visit this forest to study its amazing ecosystem. Tall trees, flowing streams, and thick greenery make the forest a peaceful and refreshing place.

 Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a valuable natural heritage of Sri Lanka. It is not only beautiful but also important for wildlife and the environment. Protecting this rainforest is the responsibility of everyone so that future generations can enjoy its beauty.
